Dear colleagues,
The 33rd International Congress of German Ophthalmic Surgery (DOC) will take
place in Nuremberg from June 18th - 20th 2020.
Internationally renowned experts present innovations and further developments
and discuss the gold standards of eye surgery with the auditorium. Practical
ophthalmic surgery is given plenty of space in wet labs and courses, so that
comprehensive, practice-oriented further training and education is guaranteed.
Next to the master class courses, which will give you an excellent point of
view over sections of the ophthalmologic field, the surgery course will be
continvously expanded. The aim is to give the participant a clear course of the operation, divided into
individual steps, supplemented by explanations on the indication and postoperative follow-up treatment.
In pros and cons meetings, the speakers defend their point of view and discuss with the auditorium. Also
in 2020, the focus will be on video live surgery in 3D, which provides particularly detailed insights into
special surgical techniques.
An important feature of the DOC is the controversial discussion. The task of the chairperson of a meeting
is to actively shape this controversial discussion, i.e. to discuss alternative views and, if necessary,
divergent opinions. The subjective, personal opinion of the chairmen is also of interest to the auditorium.
The scientific program is rounded off by the seminar series Management in Clinic and Practice as well as
by symposia in the fields of telemedicine, anaesthesia, contact lenses and strabology.
The seminar for the ophthalmologist‘s practice will be of particular interest to our primarily conservative
colleagues.
The program is supplemented by a comprehensive and highly differentiated program for ophthalmic
non-medical staff (POS).
We look forward to your participation at the 33rd DOC from June 18th - 20th 2020 in Nuremberg!
Yours sincerely,
A. Scharrer
President DOC
