Dr. Jack T. Holladay, M.D., M.S.E.E., F.A.C.S. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, who received a Medical Degree in 1974 and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Texas and a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, the author of three books, hundreds of chapters, and articles in peer reviewed scientific journals, serves on 10 editorial boards and 5 medical and scientific advisory boards and holds twelve patents. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Commissioner of the FDA for his service on the Ophthalmic Device Panel. He received the Ridley Medal from the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), the Pearce Medal from the United Kingdom Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Lindstrom Medal from the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists and the Honor Award, Senior Honor Award, the Life Time Achievement Award and the Kelman Medal from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Barraquer Award, Casebeer Award, Founder’s Award, Kritzinger Award and Life Time Achievement Award from the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the El-Maghraby International Award from the Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO), the Jan Worst Medal from the International Intraocular Implant Club, the Benedetto Strampelli Medal from the Society of Ophthalmology in Italy, the Kelman Medal from the Brazilian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Binkhorst Medal and inducted into the Hall of Fame by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
